Directions to Our Practice

If you’ve never been to our practice before, here are two easy routes you could use to get to us, starting from the North Hollywood Amelia Earhart Regional Library.

1. Head south on Tujunga Ave alongside the park, then turn left onto Riverside Dr. Follow that as it curves east. Halfway between the intersection with Lankershim Blvd and the intersection with Cahuenga Blvd, you’ll find us on your left at 10719 Riverside Dr.
2. You could take Magnolia Blvd, then turn right onto Lankershim Blvd. Then you’ll turn left onto Riverside Dr and find us at 10719 on the left.

How Much Local History Do You Know?

In 1893, General Charles Forman, a pioneering landowner in Nevada, petitioned for the establishment of the “Toluca Post Office” in an area then known as “Lankershim” after Colonel Lankershim, with a nearby Southern Pacific Railroad station also carrying the Lankershim name.

Forman chose “Toluca,” a Paiute word he interpreted as “fertile” or “beautiful” valley, for his ranch and the surrounding lands. He moved to the region in the late 1880s, marrying Los Angeles native Mary Agnes Gray and starting the Kern River Company, which supplied Los Angeles with electricity from Kern River generators. He also cultivated a large farm that included much of modern-day Toluca Lake, turning it into a prosperous site producing peaches, apples, and walnuts by 1923.

The area evolved rapidly; in 1923, it was developed into Toluca Lake Park by investors, though the venture initially failed. A subsequent group renamed it the Toluca Lake Company with a vision to create a residential community for Los Angeles commuters. The community was renamed to Toluca Lake, adopting the “swan on rippled water” logo. By 1927, local influences from nearby Hollywood led to a push to rename the area North Hollywood.

Notable residents have included aviator Amelia Earhart, who lived here after marrying George P. Putnam in 1931, and entertainer Bob Hope, who resided in Toluca Lake until his death in 2003. Over the years, Toluca Lake has been home to many celebrities, including Frank Sinatra and Ronald Reagan, who celebrated his wedding reception with Nancy Reagan at actor William Holden’s Toluca Lake home in 1952.
